Re: The Zodiac (from 2005)
I watched Fincher's film again over the weekend, and found myself pouring something over the rocks in a tall glass. Although it 'put the case out there' so to speak to the general public not familiar with the Zodiac, I don't believe any press is good press. To me, it's nothing more than an egotistical attempt to portray Graysmith as some type of hero, wanting recognition for the years he spent on the case. The fact is, he spent those years chasing his tail like my 5 month old puppy, and nothing more. This is what happens when you choose to ignore the obvious, because you need a conclusion, and any conclusion will do.

Well, it seems I jumped the gun by posting in the
"Criminal Minds' Thread. Sorry bout that.
Just finished watching the 'Stine scene'..they have Z walking
UP A SET OF CITY STEPS instead of just walking round the
corner. Little things like that irk me
Oh WOW..that's it. Geez..didn't expect THAT ending.
This movie will re-run on the 'Chiller' Channel
this Sat 1/28/12 @ 5PM and Sun 1/29 @ 2AM

Re: The Zodiac (from 2005)
I liked this movie too. Yeah, it was a bit made-for-TV, but it was nice to see it from a different view and one that was not tainted by Bobby G and ALA.
It also helped a lot that Zodiac was SPOILER ALERT played by William Mapother, who played a truly creeepy guy on LOST, one of my all time favorite shows. And of course I immediately knew he was the killer when I saw him.
and as you said, I also liked the guy who play Morril was in it too. It gave it a weird synchronicity (and Zynchronicity!)
I always think of him as the Library Cop from Seinfeld.

I also enjoyed this version. Even though it is terribly inaccurate in places (especially crime scenes, actions of detectives, and Z supposedly stalking the detective and his family), it was very creative. I would like to own a copy sometime.
