I looked thru newspaperarchive.com and ancestry.com, and found no mention of a Carmen Rivera in CA during the time of teh Z murders.

Graysmith list Rivera as a victim for May 20, 1981 in Hayward

The following is a record from the California Death Index, 1940-1997. It was developed by a couple of researchers on another MB. I can confirm the record exists on Ancestry.com, but I can't confirm this is positively the woman known as Carmen Rivera found murdered. The date of death differs from Graysmith, of course, but that's hardly surprising:

There is pretty much nothing on the Internet I can find out about this woman, including newspaper archives, obits, etc. I don't know why Graysmith has her listed as a possible Zodiac victim anyway. Once again he neglects to provide any supporting facts.
